AWL Agri Business Expands into Ready-to-Eat Foods, Strengthens Sustainability Initiatives

AWL Agri Business Limited (AWL) is set to deepen its presence in India’s food sector with a foray into the ready-to-eat (RTE) food category, leveraging strong consumer demand and supportive policy measures, including the recent GST cut on packaged foods. The tax reduction is expected to enhance competitiveness for large FMCG players while encouraging small and mid-sized brands to formalize operations, boosting sector growth.

Alongside its RTE expansion, AWL is prioritizing sustainability and farmer partnerships. Collaborating with the Solvent Extractors’ Association of India (SEA) and the Sustainable Rice and Energy Centre (SREC), AWL plans to establish 3,000 model mustard farms across Rajasthan, Haryana, and Madhya Pradesh by 2027, investing Rs 4 crore over two years.

With its Food & FMCG segment generating Rs 6,000 crore last year and targeting Rs 9,000–10,000 crore by 2027, AWL’s integrated approach aims to meet evolving urban consumer preferences while strengthening resilient farm-level supply chains, positioning the company as a key player in India’s growing food landscape.
