Canada’s ArthroLense has partnered with Germany’s Waldemar Link to integrate their technologies and improve surgical precision in knee arthroplasty. Under the non-exclusive collaboration, ArthroLense’s 4Di augmented and mixed reality navigation system will be paired with Waldemar Link’s LinkSymphoKnee implants to enhance real-time visualisation and reduce surgical variability. The 4Di system employs dual 3D spatial mapping cameras powered by machine learning and computer vision to create detailed surgical models, assisting surgeons through an interactive viewing portal. Initially focused on knee revision procedures, the partnership aims to expand adoption across orthopaedic applications in the US market. By merging AR-based navigation with proven implant technology, the collaboration seeks to improve outcomes, support intraoperative decision-making, and position AR as a cost-effective alternative to traditional robotic surgical systems.
