Neusoft Medical Launches China’s First Photon-Counting CT Scanner

Neusoft Medical Systems has introduced the NeuViz P10, China’s first photon-counting CT (PCCT) system, following approval from the National Medical Products Administration (NMPA). The system also stands as the world’s first wide-body PCCT equipped with an 8cm detector.

Unlike conventional CT scanners, the NeuViz P10 employs a cadmium zinc telluride (CZT) detector that directly converts X-ray photons into digital signals, removing the need for light conversion. This approach enhances image quality, lowers radiation exposure, and improves tissue differentiation. Clinical applications include clearer visualization of cardiac microvasculature, earlier tumour detection, more accurate neurological diagnosis, and safer lung imaging.

The platform integrates NeuPhoton Counting, Photon Supersonic, Photon Intelligence, and Photon Research technologies, offering faster scans, improved workflow, and research capabilities. Neusoft highlighted the launch as a milestone in China’s medical imaging sector and a step forward for global CT innovation.
