ohnson & Johnson MedTech Unveils ETHICON 4000 Surgical Stapler

Johnson & Johnson MedTech has launched the ETHICON 4000 Stapler, designed to improve staple line integrity and address tissue complexity during surgery. Featuring 3D Staple Technology and enhanced Gripping Surface Technology, the device reduces leaks and bleeding risks by 23% compared to traditional staples.

Cleared for both open and laparoscopic procedures, the stapler and ETHICON 3D Reloads are set for future exclusive use with the OTTAVA Robotic Surgical System. The innovations offer consistent compression, improved tissue control, and fewer surgical complications.

The ETHICON 4000 will be showcased at the 2025 ASMBS Annual Meeting in Washington, DC. Building on ETHICON’s proven track record since 2017, the new system supports better clinical and economic outcomes across open, minimally invasive, and robotic surgeries.
