Siemens Healthineers and Mayo Clinic have expanded their strategic partnership to advance diagnosis and treatment of neurodegenerative diseases and cancer using cutting-edge imaging and interventional technologies.
The updated agreement now includes prostate cancer and metastatic liver tumors, alongside ongoing work in neurological disorders. The collaboration will focus on integrating advanced imaging systems, artificial intelligence and novel therapeutic techniques into routine clinical practice to support earlier detection and more tailored care.
In neurodegenerative disease, the partners will develop AI-enhanced MRI protocols and accelerate adoption of ultra-high-field MRI for improved diagnostic precision and surgical planning. Imaging remains central in conditions such as Alzheimer’s disease, where MRI can reveal characteristic brain atrophy.
For prostate cancer, research will assess AI’s potential to reduce unnecessary biopsies and improve image-guided procedures. In liver cancer, efforts will emphasize precise detection and treatment of metastases through advanced image-guided technologies, while also enhancing surgical workflows and operational efficiency.
