SS Innovations’ SSi Mantra 3 robotic system was used for its first cardiac procedure in the Americas—an atrial septal defect repair at Interhospital in Guayaquil, Ecuador. This marks the system’s entry into cardiovascular surgery in South America, where it has already supported other complex procedures.
The India-based company, now listed on Nasdaq, is expanding globally with 80 systems installed in 75 hospitals. Over 4,000 surgeries—including 215 cardiac and six telesurgeries—have been completed without complications. SS Innovations aims to compete with market leader Intuitive Surgical by offering a technologically advanced yet affordable solution.
The company reported $5.1 million in Q1 revenue (up 41% year-over-year) and reduced its net loss. Regulatory milestones include CE mark approval in Europe and FDA clearance in 2026, with a de novo submission planned for July.
