ADM Trial Shows Promise for Priome MH in Canine Metabolic Health

ADM has released results from a clinical study examining Bifidobacterium animalis subsp. lactis CECT 8145 (Priome MH) in adult dogs. Available as both a probiotic and heat-treated postbiotic, the strain showed a significant reduction in post-meal blood glucose levels during a weight loss phase compared to a placebo. Hormones like GLP-1 and glucagon, key to metabolism, were also assessed, with differences noted between sexes.

The study highlights the potential of Priome MH’s postbiotic form in supporting metabolic function—a historically underserved area in pet nutrition. While postbiotics are well known for gut health, findings suggest they may also benefit overall metabolic wellness in dogs. As interest in functional pet ingredients grows, Priome MH could serve as an innovative supplement to help maintain canine metabolic health.
