Cybersecurity experts have identified a new trend in phishing campaigns where attackers are using artificial intelligence tools to generate highly convincing messages. Unlike traditional phishing emails that often contain grammatical errors or suspicious wording, AI-generated messages can closely mimic legitimate corporate communications.
Attackers are reportedly analyzing publicly available information about organizations and employees to create personalized phishing messages that appear authentic. In some cases, the emails imitate internal company communications from executives or IT support teams, making them more likely to deceive recipients. Security researchers believe that AI-powered phishing could significantly increase the effectiveness of social-engineering attacks. Organizations are being advised to conduct awareness training and implement advanced email-filtering technologies capable of detecting sophisticated phishing attempts.
