Chocolate Supplements Recalled Over Undeclared Drug Ingredients

Gear Isle has issued a voluntary recall of certain chocolate products after they were found to contain undeclared pharmaceutical ingredients—sildenafil and tadalafil.

The affected products include Gold Lion Aphrodisiac Chocolate Sachet (exp. June 2027) and ilum Sex Chocolate (exp. December 2027), both sold online across the United States as dietary supplements.

Health risks arise because these hidden ingredients can interact with nitrate-based medications, such as nitroglycerin, potentially causing a dangerous drop in blood pressure. This risk is especially significant for individuals with heart conditions.

Although no adverse events have been reported so far, consumers are advised to stop using these products immediately. The company is notifying customers and facilitating returns and refunds.

Anyone experiencing health issues after consuming these products should consult a healthcare professional and report incidents to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration MedWatch program.
