The FDA is warning consumers not to feed dogs Raaw Energy dog food due to contamination with multiple pathogens, including Listeria monocytogenes, Salmonella, E. coli O157, and Campylobacter jejuni. Testing of eight unopened product samples, following a consumer complaint in Connecticut, found all samples positive for one or more of these bacteria. The company has not issued a recall despite FDA requests.
Products Implicated:
Products are sold frozen in 2- or 5-pound plastic tubes with date codes printed on stickers, packaged in 10-tube cardboard boxes. Products may affect pet owners also.
