Quality Poultry & Seafood Recalls Nearly 99,000 Pounds of Catfish Fillets for Lack of Federal Inspection

Quality Poultry & Seafood Inc. of Biloxi, MS, is recalling 98,916 pounds of frozen catfish fillets that were produced without federal inspection, according to the USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS). Products affected include various “Varied Catfish Miscut Fillets” and “Irregular Catfish Fillets” sold in 5- and 15-pound translucent plastic bags and cardboard boxes.

The fillets were produced between September 2, 2024, and September 5, 2025, and were distributed to restaurants and retail locations in Alabama, Mississippi, and Louisiana, as well as the company’s retail store.

Consumption of uninspected products can pose health risks due to possible undeclared allergens, bacteria, or other contaminants. No illnesses have been reported. Consumers and restaurants are urged not to eat or serve the products; they should be discarded or returned to the point of purchase. Those with health concerns should contact a healthcare provider.
