Study Questions Adequacy of Current Wireless Radiation Limits

A new peer-reviewed study published in Environmental Health has raised concerns that existing human exposure limits for wireless radiofrequency (RF) radiation may not sufficiently protect public health. The analysis, conducted using methodologies developed by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, evaluated cancer risk data from major studies, including the National Toxicology Program.

Researchers concluded that current exposure limits set by bodies such as the Federal Communications Commission and International Commission on Non-Ionizing Radiation Protection may need to be reduced by up to 200 times to align with standard risk thresholds. Additional findings suggest even greater reductions may be required based on other datasets.

The study also highlighted potential reproductive risks and higher occupational exposure concerns. Authors called for an urgent, independent reassessment of existing standards using updated scientific evidence, particularly as global exposure continues to rise with expanding wireless technologies.
