Afghani Corn Bread “Doda” recalled due to undeclared sesame and wheat

Ariana Sweets Inc., based in Fremont, CA, has issued a recall of its Afghani Corn Bread “Doda” made before April 24, 2025, due to undeclared sesame and wheat allergens. These ingredients can pose serious health risks, including life-threatening allergic reactions, to individuals sensitive to sesame or wheat.

The issue was identified during a routine FDA inspection, which found the allergens present without proper labeling.

Recalled product details:

  • Name: Afghani Corn Bread “Doda”
  • Size: 24 oz., packaged in a plastic bag
  • UPC: 753182432670
  • Distribution: Sold at retail stores in California

As of now, no allergic reactions have been reported. Consumers with sesame or wheat allergies are advised not to eat the product. It should be discarded or returned for a full refund.

Food allergies can trigger reactions from mild hives to severe anaphylaxis. Prompt medical attention is crucial if symptoms occur.
