Up to 10 people in Australia have reported reactions after consuming Cocobella coconut yogurt products containing undeclared milk, despite being marketed as dairy-free. The company has recalled all flavors and sizes of its coconut yogurt with use-by dates up to Oct. 6, 2025. The recall does not affect Cocobella’s coconut water range.
The issue was first identified in specific 110-gram pouches, but additional testing revealed contamination across other product lines. Production occurs in a facility that also processes dairy products, raising cross-contact concerns.
The products were sold through Woolworths, Coles, IGA, independent retailers, and online nationwide. FSANZ has warned that people with milk allergies or intolerances may face serious health risks if they consume the affected yogurt.
Cocobella is investigating the root cause and has apologized for the health risks and inconvenience. The company has pledged to strengthen its food safety systems while working with FSANZ and Dairy Food Safety Victoria.
