Egg Recall Expands as Kenz Henz Adds Products Linked to Salmonella Risk

An egg recall initially issued by Black Sheep Egg Company has been expanded to include Kenz Henz brand eggs due to potential Salmonella contamination. Kenz Henz of Santa Fe, Texas, is recalling its 12-pack AA pasture-raised eggs received from Black Sheep.

The affected cartons are labeled with UPC 86949400030, Julian dates 241 (Aug 30)–244 (Sep 2) and 246 (Sep 4)–247 (Sep 5), and Best By dates 10/11–10/14 and 10/16–10/17. No product images or illness reports have been released.

Following the recall, the FDA inspected Black Sheep Egg Company’s facility, finding 40 environmental samples positive for Salmonella, including seven strains associated with human illness.

Consumers are urged not to eat the recalled eggs and to discard or return them. Those experiencing Salmonella symptoms such as diarrhea, cramps, or fever should seek medical care immediately.
