Floria Dried Apricots Recalled Due to Undeclared Sulfites

Turkana Food Inc. is recalling 352 cases of Floria Dried Apricots after tests by the New York State Department of Agriculture found undeclared sulfites. This allergen poses a serious risk to individuals with sulfite sensitivities. The company has paused production and distribution while the issue is investigated. The affected products were sold in multiple states including Florida, New York, California, Texas, and Illinois. Lot numbers and expiration dates are listed on the package’s bottom. No illnesses have been reported. Consumers with sulfite allergies should not eat the apricots and are advised to return them for a full refund. Sulfite reactions can range from mild symptoms like hives to severe cases such as anaphylaxis, requiring immediate medical attention.
