Hartford Bakery Recalls Lewis Bake Shop Bread Due to Undeclared Hazelnuts

Hartford Bakery Inc. has voluntarily recalled six lots of its “Lewis Bake Shop Artisan Style 1/2 Loaf” bread after discovering undeclared hazelnuts in the product. Consumers with nut allergies are at risk of severe or life-threatening reactions. Though no major injuries have been reported, one person experienced digestive discomfort, and others lodged complaints after noticing visible hazelnuts.

The affected bread was distributed to retailers like Walmart and Kroger in 12 states, including Michigan, Indiana, and Georgia. The 12oz loaves bear UPC 24126018152, an expiration date of 07/13/2025, and lot codes: T10 174010206, T10 174010306, T10 174010406, T10 174020206, T10 174020306, and T10 174020406.

The issue arose from a packaging error involving a hazelnut-containing bread. Consumers should not consume the product and return it for a full refund. For inquiries, contact Hartford Bakery at 812-425-4642.
