Katilo Product Recalled in Canada Over Salmonella Risk

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency has announced a recall of Katilo brand Classic Roomy due to potential contamination with Salmonella. The recall was initiated following routine testing that identified the risk.

The affected product was sold in New Brunswick, Ontario, and Quebec. It comes in 200-gram plastic packaging and can be identified by specific UPC and production codes. Due to its long shelf life, which extends until February 2027, consumers may still have the product stored at home.

Health officials warn that Salmonella contamination may not alter the food’s appearance or smell. Symptoms of infection typically include diarrhea, fever, and abdominal cramps, appearing within 12 to 72 hours after consumption.

Vulnerable groups such as children, elderly individuals, pregnant women, and those with weakened immunity are at higher risk. Anyone experiencing symptoms should seek medical attention promptly.
