King Tallow LLC of Guaynabo, Puerto Rico, is recalling 353 pounds of beef tallow products that were processed and sold without federal inspection, according to the USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS). The issue surfaced after a consumer complaint about products lacking the USDA inspection mark at a Carolina, Puerto Rico store. The company had processed and repackaged beef fat into tallow without proper FSIS oversight. Although labeled with nutrition facts, the products were not inspected and are not approved for human consumption. Distributed across Puerto Rico between 2023 and May 2025, the items do not bear the USDA mark. FSIS urges consumers not to eat the products and to return or discard them. Retailers should stop selling the items immediately.
