Listeria Outbreak Linked to Chicken Alfredo Sickens 17, Kills 4

A Listeria outbreak tied to FreshRealm’s chicken fettuccine alfredo has affected 17 people in 13 U.S. states, resulting in three deaths and one fetal loss, per the USDA’s FSIS. All related products made before June 17, 2025, and sold at Kroger and Walmart under various brands have been recalled.

The items, produced at facilities in CA, GA, and IN, bear establishment numbers “EST. P-50784,” “EST. P-47770,” or “EST. P-47718.” Some may still be in home refrigerators or freezers.

The outbreak strain was found in a March 2025 FSIS sample. That batch was destroyed. Purchase records and consumer reports linked the illness to FreshRealm, but the contamination source is still unknown. Investigations are ongoing.
