LLK Trading Inc. of Linden, NJ, is recalling 200g packs of its “Needle Mushrooms” (enoki mushrooms) due to potential Listeria monocytogenes contamination. The affected products were distributed to Bally Produce Corp. in Maspeth, NY, and sold at Datang Supermarket Inc. The mushrooms come in clear plastic packaging with a blue bottom. No illnesses have been reported yet, but the recall follows FDA routine testing that detected the bacteria. Sales have been paused while the investigation continues.
Consumers are urged not to eat the product and to return it for a full refund. For questions, contact LLK Trading at 908-290-3061.
Listeria infections can cause serious health issues, especially in pregnant women, the elderly, and immunocompromised individuals. Symptoms may include fever, nausea, muscle pain, and stiff neck. Because symptoms can appear up to 70 days after exposure, consumers should monitor their health closely if they consumed the recalled mushrooms.
