May Flower International Recalls Beijing Soybean Paste Due to Undeclared Wheat

May Flower International Inc., based in Maspeth, NY, is recalling its 8.82-ounce/250-gram packages of “Beijing Soybean Paste” due to the presence of undeclared wheat. This poses a serious risk to individuals with wheat allergies, potentially leading to severe or life-threatening reactions.

The recalled product was distributed nationwide in retail stores and is packaged in plastic containers with a UPC number of 6917799000385. The label indicates that the product was packed for Fu Xiang Yuan Trading Inc., New York City, NY. It was distributed between March 25, 2023, and March 5, 2024.

The recall follows a routine FDA inspection, which found that the product listed flour but failed to mention wheat in the ingredient list. No reports of illness or allergic reactions have been made.

Consumers who have purchased this product are advised to return it for a full refund.
