Michigan company recalling ground beef due to consumer complaint regarding metal in product

Ada Valley Meat Company, based in Ada, Michigan, is recalling 1,065 pounds of fully cooked frozen ground beef due to possible metal contamination, according to the USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS).

The affected product, “Ada Valley Fully Cooked Ground Beef”, was packed on May 28 and May 30, 2025, in 20-lb. boxes containing four 5-lb. plastic bags. The labels include lot codes 35156 and 35157 and show the establishment number “EST. 10031” inside the USDA mark of inspection.

These items were shipped to distributors and facilities in California, Delaware, Illinois, Michigan, and Pennsylvania.

The recall follows a consumer complaint about metal fragments found in the product. No injuries have been reported.

Institutions are advised not to serve the recalled beef. Products should be discarded or returned. FSIS also warns that repackaged items may display different establishment numbers.
