Mondelēz Expands U.S. Recall of Chips Ahoy! Baked Bites Brookies Over Choking Risk

Mondelēz Global LLC has broadened its December 24, 2025, U.S. recall of Chips Ahoy! Baked Bites Brookies to include an additional “Best When Used By” date of 10MAY2026 and two more UPC codes for pouches packed inside recalled cartons. The action follows the discovery of a production error during mixing that led to small clumps of corn starch forming in certain batches. These clumps may present a choking hazard, particularly for young children and older adults. The recall applies only to specified Brookie products bearing the listed date codes that were distributed to select retail locations nationwide. No other Chips Ahoy! items or products from Mondelēz are impacted. The company reports that no injuries or illnesses have been linked to the issue so far. Consumers who purchased the affected products are advised not to eat them.
