More than 50,000 Hot Ones bottles recalled due to possible plastic in the product
The Karma Sauce Company LLC is recalling 50,654 units of HOT ONES Los Calientes Hot Sauce (Verde and Rojo) due to potential plastic contamination. The recall, initiated on February 14, 2025, affects 5 oz bottles, 1-gallon jugs, and 5-gallon buckets distributed in North Carolina, Ohio, Indiana, and Illinois.
The recalled Verde hot sauce includes various best-by dates ranging from December 18, 2027, to February 13, 2028, while the Rojo variety has best-by dates of February 7 and 10, 2028. The FDA classifies this as a Class II recall, meaning health risks are minimal but possible.
Consumers should not use, sell, or distribute these products. Ingesting plastic may cause choking, irritation, or digestive issues. Anyone experiencing symptoms should seek medical attention.
