Pan Asia Food Recalls Daesang Gochujang for Undeclared Wheat in Canada
Pan Asia Food Co. Ltd. is recalling Daesang brand gochujang (red pepper paste) in Canada following a consumer complaint regarding undeclared wheat. The recall was announced by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) and applies to products distributed in Manitoba, Ontario, and Quebec.
Individuals with wheat allergies or sensitivities may face serious or potentially life-threatening reactions if they consume the product. One case of an adverse reaction has already been reported.
The affected gochujang is packaged in 500-gram plastic tubs, identified by UPC 8 80 1052 802022 and a date code of 2025.10.29.
Consumers are strongly advised not to eat the recalled product. Instead, it should be discarded or returned to the retailer for a full refund.
