Parashore Pear Slices Recalled Nationwide for Lead and Cadmium Contamination

W.W. Industrial Group Inc., New York, has recalled its 15-ounce Parashore Pear Slices in Juice (UPC# 704817164237) due to unsafe levels of lead and cadmium detected during government testing. The contaminated lot is 3700/01172 6122J, produced on Feb 19, 2024, with a best-by date of Feb 19, 2027. Distributed via Grocery Outlet stores nationwide, the recall follows sampling by the Maryland Department of Health under the FDA’s Laboratory Flexible Funding Model.

Consumers are urged not to consume the product and either discard it or return it for a refund. For queries, contact the company at 516-676-9188.

Lead and cadmium are environmental toxins that, in high amounts, can cause serious health issues—especially in children—ranging from developmental delays to behavioral changes and, in severe cases, seizures or coma. Chronic exposure, even without immediate symptoms, poses long-term risks to infants and young children.
