The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) has issued a public health alert for a ground beef product that may contain metal fragments. A formal recall has not been initiated as the product is no longer available in stores, but officials warn that some packages could still be stored in consumers’ freezers.
The issue came to light after the manufacturer received two customer complaints. Authorities are advising consumers not to consume the affected product if they have it at home.
The alert applies to 16-ounce vacuum-sealed packages labeled “White Oak Pastures Grassfed Ground Beef,” produced on February 26, 2026. The product carries establishment number “EST 34729” and a sell-by date of March 19, 2026.
The beef was distributed to Mom’s Organic Markets across several states. No injuries have been reported, but individuals with concerns are advised to seek medical attention.
