Yoplait Recalls YOP Drinkable Yogurt in Canada Over Plastic Contamination Risk

Yoplait’s YOP Drinkable Yogurt has been voluntarily recalled across Canada after pieces of plastic were found in certain products. According to the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA), 18 different YOP items — covering multiple flavours and package sizes — are affected. The recalled yogurts were distributed nationwide, prompting a broad safety alert.

The CFIA reports that, as of Nov. 23, no injuries or adverse reactions linked to the contaminated products have been reported. The recall was initiated by the manufacturer as a precautionary measure to prevent potential health risks. Consumers are advised to check their refrigerators for affected YOP products and avoid eating them. Retailers have been instructed to remove the recalled items from shelves, while the CFIA continues to monitor the situation to ensure compliance and assess whether further action is required.

This recall underscores the importance of strict quality controls in protecting consumer safety.
