OMRON Healthcare has issued a nationwide alert highlighting increased mortality linked to arrhythmias, heart failure, and hypertensive heart disease, based on a new study published in the Journal of the American Heart Association. Analyzing CDC data from 1970–2022, the research reveals that while heart attack deaths have declined by 89%, deaths from other heart conditions have surged by 81%.
OMRON stresses the importance of regular home blood pressure monitoring, early detection of atrial fibrillation (AFib) using AI-powered devices, and virtual coaching through its OMRON Connect app. These tools, alongside timely consultation with healthcare providers, are key in preventing heart complications.
Alice Koehler of OMRON Healthcare emphasized that 90% of heart disease is preventable with early intervention. As heart attack survival improves, the focus must shift to lifelong heart health. OMRON reaffirms its mission of “Going for Zero” heart attacks and strokes through prevention and innovation.
