Amorepacific has presented nine research studies combining artificial intelligence, digital measurement and cosmetic science at the 2026 Congress of the International Federation of Societies of Cosmetic Chemists (IFSCC) in Perth, Australia. The research covered skin ageing, product-use experience and consumer behaviour.
One of the featured studies examined the effect of heat on skin ageing. Researchers combined transcriptomic analysis with deep-learning technology to study changes associated with heat-accelerated ageing. The approach was used to investigate the progression of skin ageing and assess the potential effectiveness of cosmetic ingredients. The study was selected among the conference’s Top 10 Best Basic Research Presentations.
Another project introduced a digital method for evaluating how cosmetic products feel when applied to the skin. The technology tracks moisture movement in real time and measures electrical changes occurring during product application. Researchers found a strong relationship between the digital measurements and consumers’ reported perceptions of product feel. The work was recognised among the Top 10 Best Applied Research Presentations.
Amorepacific also presented research based on AI-assisted analysis of video interviews with consumers in Brazil and Mexico. The study explored preferences for moisturising products intended for sensitive skin. Findings indicated that quick absorption, a lightweight texture and perceived skin-barrier care were among the factors influencing consumer preferences.
The company said the research represents an effort to combine established skin-science expertise with AI and digital tools. The technologies are being explored to make cosmetic research more predictive, measurable and data-driven, while also providing a more detailed understanding of how consumers experience and evaluate skin-care products.
