APAC Personal-Care Industry Turns Attention to New Ingredients and Formulation Opportunities

Changing consumer preferences and developments in cosmetic ingredients are influencing the direction of the personal-care industry across the Asia-Pacific region. These trends will be explored at in-cosmetics Asia 2026, scheduled to take place in Bangkok from 3 to 5 November. The event is expected to bring together more than 770 global and regional exhibitors from the personal-care ingredients and formulation sector.

The latest industry programme places particular attention on the relationship between changing consumer expectations and ingredient innovation. Suppliers and formulators are increasingly examining ingredients that can perform multiple functions while meeting evolving requirements related to product performance and formulation design.

Research from Kline will feature in a session examining the development of the personal-care ingredients market in Asia-Pacific. The discussion will cover multifunctional ingredients, changing consumer behaviour and potential areas of growth for ingredient suppliers and cosmetic manufacturers across the region.

Consumer trends will also form part of the programme. Euromonitor International is scheduled to present an analysis of personal-care trends in APAC, examining changing consumer needs and the areas in which innovation is emerging. The focus reflects the increasingly diverse requirements of consumers across Asian markets, where preferences can vary considerably between countries and product categories.

For cosmetic formulators, developments in ingredient technology are closely linked with the creation of new skincare, haircare and other personal-care products. Ingredient suppliers are therefore playing an important role in developing materials that can respond to formulation challenges while addressing market expectations.

The announcement also highlights the growing importance of collaboration between ingredient manufacturers, formulators and brands. By bringing these groups together, industry events such as in-cosmetics Asia provide a platform for examining new ingredients, technologies and formulation approaches before they reach wider commercial markets.
