ECA to Release Updated Visual Inspection Guidance at Vienna Conference

Participants attending the ECA Conference on Visual Inspection of Parenterals in Vienna, Austria, on 22–23 October 2025 will receive the latest edition of ECA’s Guidance Document on Visual Inspection of Parenterals. Developed by the ECA Visual Inspection Group Board, the document provides practical guidance for both manual and automated inspection processes, aiming to ensure regulatory compliance while reflecting real-world technical constraints.

The guidance is divided into key chapters covering manual, semi-automated, and automated inspection methods, inspection of difficult-to-inspect units, defect classification and trending, batch release procedures, and management of concerns related to distributed products. It also includes clear definitions for consistent interpretation.
