New ECA Guidance published on Sample Management and Sampling

The ECA Analytical Quality Control Group (AQCG) has released Laboratory Data Management Guidance – Sampling and Sample Management, its latest guidance document, available free to AQCG members as of 30 April 2025. Authored by Dr. Christopher Burgess, AQCG Chairman, and externally reviewed by Jane Weitzel, the guide emphasizes the importance of sampling as a key factor in preventing data errors and ensuring integrity. It outlines regulatory expectations, statistical sampling plans, protocol design, and documentation requirements. The 24-page document includes 12 illustrations and 34 references, making it a practical resource for laboratories focused on compliance and quality. Chapters range from regulatory frameworks to step-by-step sampling procedures. A free webinar led by Dr. Burgess will take place on 17 June 2025 at 10 a.m. CEST, offering a 45-minute presentation and 15-minute Q&A session.
