Two recent violations of EU Good Distribution Practice (GDP) guidelines have been recorded in the EudraGMDP database.
Austria:A non-compliance report dated 19 May 2025 (Report No. 482952-102672721) follows a 6 February inspection of a Vienna-based company. The Austrian Federal Office for Safety in Health Care withdrew the firm’s Wholesale Distribution Authorisation (WDA) and notified relevant EU Member States. Specific deficiencies were not disclosed.
Ireland:The Irish HPRA issued a report on 4 June 2025 (Report No. 2024/35203/W13004/00001), citing serious GDP breaches at a company in Swords. Violations of Chapters 4, 5, 7, and 9 were noted, with a critical finding that the company operated outside its WDA terms. A pharmacy-level recall was issued due to non-compliant supply practices and cold chain failures, increasing the risk of falsified medicines.
