Haryana Announces District-Level Yoga Training Programme for School Teachers from November 16

The Haryana State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) has announced a district-level yoga training programme for school teachers in Gurugram, scheduled to begin on 16 November 2026. The training will continue until 30 November, as part of the state's efforts to strengthen yoga education in government schools.

SCERT Haryana has issued instructions for organising the programme, which aims to enhance teachers' theoretical knowledge and practical skills in yoga. The initiative forms part of a broader teacher-training exercise undertaken by the Haryana School Education Department to promote structured yoga instruction.

Under the wider training plan announced earlier, approximately 10,500 government school teachers were identified for yoga training across different phases. The programme includes primary school teachers, Physical Training Instructors (PTIs), Directors of Physical Education (DPEs) and postgraduate teachers specialising in physical education.

The training framework combines practical yoga sessions with classroom-based instruction. Earlier guidelines outlined morning practical sessions followed by theoretical classes covering different aspects of yoga and its application in school education.

SCERT Haryana is responsible for coordinating the programme with District Institutes of Education and Training (DIETs), district education officers and other concerned authorities. District-level supervision arrangements have also been planned to monitor the training process.

The upcoming November session follows earlier phases of teacher training conducted during October. Through these programmes, the education department is working to develop a larger pool of teachers equipped with the knowledge and skills required to conduct yoga activities in schools.

The initiative reflects Haryana's continuing efforts to integrate yoga into the school education system through organised teacher development programmes.
