Baekdu Peak Enoki Mushrooms Recalled in Canada Over Listeria Risk

Baekdu Peak brand enoki mushrooms have been recalled in Canada after government testing detected Listeria monocytogenes. According to the Canadian Food Inspection Agency, the affected products were distributed in Alberta and British Columbia. Consumers can identify the recalled mushrooms by checking the 200-gram plastic bags labeled with UPC 9 90016 90034 3 and a date code of 2025/12/25.

Listeria-contaminated foods may appear normal but can still cause severe or potentially life-threatening infections. Anyone who has eaten the recalled mushrooms and developed symptoms should seek medical attention and inform their healthcare provider of possible exposure. Because symptoms can take up to 70 days to appear, individuals should continue monitoring their health.

Common signs of infection include vomiting, nausea, persistent fever, muscle pain, severe headache, and neck stiffness. Pregnant women, older adults, young children, and people with weakened immune systems face higher risks of complications, including miscarriage, newborn infections, or death.
