Knockroe Inc., based in Elizabethtown, PA, has recalled several varieties of its Bonya Yogurt Parfaits after discovering they contain almonds that are not listed on the label. Almonds are a recognized allergen, and their undeclared presence poses a serious health risk to consumers with allergies.
The recall, initiated on March 29, is classified as a Class I recall by the FDA, signaling a high risk of severe or life-threatening reactions. Affected products were distributed to retail outlets in Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, and Massachusetts.
No allergic reactions have been reported to date. However, individuals with almond allergies are advised not to consume these products and should return or dispose of them.
The recalled items are 8-ounce refrigerated yogurt parfaits in plastic cups with granola inserts, labeled “Always Refrigerate,” and sold in 6- or 12-unit cases.
