Co-op Spinach Salad Recalled in Canada Over Listeria Risk

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency has announced a recall of Co-op Creamy Garlic and Spinach Salad due to possible contamination with Listeria monocytogenes.

The affected product was sold as a clerk-served item with variable weight and UPC starting with 0 284616. It carries best-before dates from March 24 to April 4, 2026, and was distributed across Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, Northwest Territories, and Saskatchewan. The recall was initiated by the company, and no related illnesses have been reported so far.

Consumers are advised not to consume the product and to discard it or return it to the place of purchase.

Listeria infections can be serious and may take up to 70 days to show symptoms, including fever, nausea, muscle aches, and headaches. Pregnant women, older adults, young children, and immunocompromised individuals are at higher risk of severe complications.
