Dan-D Pak Raw Macadamia Nuts Recalled in Canada Over Salmonella Risk

Dan-D Pak brand raw macadamia nuts are being recalled in Canada due to possible contamination with Salmonella, according to the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA). The issue was identified through CFIA testing, and as of January 28, no illnesses had been reported.

The recall applies to 100-gram packages of the nuts with UPC 7 70795 52260 4 and the code PDD 2025.NO.06 / BB: 2026.NO.06 printed on the label. Consumers are advised not to consume the product and to discard it or return it to the place of purchase.

Food contaminated with Salmonella often looks and smells normal. Symptoms of infection can include diarrhea, stomach cramps, and fever, usually appearing 12 to 72 hours after consumption. While healthy adults typically recover within a week, young children, seniors, pregnant people, and those with weakened immune systems are at higher risk of severe illness.

Anyone who develops symptoms after eating the recalled nuts should seek medical attention and inform their healthcare provider of possible Salmonella exposure.
