Demers Food Group Recalls Scott & Jon’s Shrimp Scampi with Linguini Over Deadly Listeria Outbreak

Demers Food Group has recalled select packages of Scott & Jon’s Shrimp Scampi with Linguini due to potential Listeria monocytogenes contamination. The recall follows one initiated by Nate’s Fine Foods, supplier of the recalled pasta ingredient linked to a deadly multistate Listeria outbreak that has caused 20 illnesses, 19 hospitalizations, four deaths, and one fetal loss across 15 states as of September 25. The affected product was distributed nationwide between September 15 and 25. Consumers are urged not to eat the recalled meals and to return or discard them. Listeria can survive in refrigeration and spread to other foods, so surfaces and containers should be thoroughly cleaned. Related recalls include pasta meals from Trader Joe’s, Walmart, Albertsons, Kroger, and Home Chef. Symptoms of infection include fever, muscle aches, and nausea; pregnant women, older adults, and immunocompromised individuals face the highest risk. For questions, consumers can contact Demers Food Group Customer Service at 800-239-9731.
