Freshprep Salad Recalled in Canada Over Listeria Risk

Canadian Food Inspection Agency has announced a recall of Freshprep Creamy Cucumber Dill Salad with Feta & Pita Chips due to possible contamination with Listeria monocytogenes.

The recall was initiated by the company and affects 300-gram containers distributed in British Columbia. Consumers can identify the impacted products using the codes: 26MR31; 26AL01; 26AL02; 26AL03; 26AL04; 26AL05; and 26AL06.

Consumers are advised not to consume the product and to discard it or return it to the place of purchase.

Listeria infections can be serious and may take up to 70 days to develop symptoms, including fever, nausea, muscle aches, headaches, and neck stiffness. Pregnant women, older adults, young children, and individuals with weakened immune systems are at higher risk of severe complications.
