Frozen Catfish Imported from Vietnam Recalled in the U.S.

Sobico USA LLC, based in West Hartford, Connecticut, has recalled 13,464 pounds of frozen raw catfish imported from Vietnam after it entered the United States without the required federal import reinspection, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS).

The recalled products were produced on June 24, 2025, and include:

· 36-pound cases of vacuum-packed “Shera Broadhead Clarias Fish Whole/Gutted” weighing 10–18 ounces (300–500 g) per fish.

· 36-pound cases of vacuum-packed “Shera Broadhead Clarias Fish Steaks” weighing about 1.8 pounds per package.

The packages carry Vietnam Establishment No. DL 811shipping mark VN/811/IV/107and best-before date June 23, 2027.

The products were distributed to wholesalers and retailers in Indiana, Michigan, Nebraska, New York, and Ohio.

No illnesses or injuries have been reported. However, officials warn the fish may still be in stores or consumers’ freezers and advise people not to consume the recalled products and discard or return them.
