Gorgonzola Cheese Recall in Canada Over Listeria Risk

Auricchio brand Gorgonzola D.O.P dolce cheese is being recalled in Canada due to possible contamination with Listeria monocytogenes, according to the Canadian Food Inspection Agency. The issue was identified through routine testing, and no illnesses have been reported so far.

The affected product was distributed in Ontario and Quebec. Consumers can identify it as a 200-gram plastic package with UPC 8 004603 100770 and code L 2595282E2, with a best-before date of August 5, 2026.

Food contaminated with Listeria may appear normal but can cause serious infections. Symptoms include nausea, vomiting, fever, muscle aches, headache, and neck stiffness. It may take up to 70 days for symptoms to develop.

Pregnant women, older adults, young children, and individuals with weakened immune systems are at higher risk. Anyone experiencing symptoms after consumption should seek medical attention promptly.
