Kendamil Infant Formula Recalled in Canada Over Cereulide Toxin Risk

Certain batches of Kendamil Infant Formula with whole milk are being recalled across Canada due to possible contamination with cereulide toxin. According to the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA), cereulide is produced by some strains of Bacillus cereus and is highly heat resistant, meaning typical preparation methods are unlikely to destroy it.

The recall follows a similar action in another country. No illnesses have been reported in Canada in connection with the affected product.

The formula was sold nationwide at Costco Wholesale stores and online in 1,049-gram containers (UPC 8 50045 23826 1). Impacted codes include:

  • MANF: 2025 MA 01 | BEST BEFORE: 2027 MA 01 | L 897274 M 121
  • MANF: 2025 MA 01 | BEST BEFORE: 2027 MA 01 | L 888632 M 121

Consumers are advised not to use the recalled formula.
