Lorraine Quiche Recalled in U.S. Over Import Inspection Violation

Maître Saladier Inc. of Quebec, Canada, is recalling about 6,000 pounds of Lorraine Quiche products containing pork because they were not presented for required U.S. import reinspection, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced.

The recalled quiche was produced on April 9 and April 17 and has a long shelf life, with expiration dates extending into April 2028, raising concerns that the products may still be stored in consumers’ freezers. The items were shipped to distributors in Georgia, Louisiana, Maryland, North Carolina, and Texas, and then further distributed.

The recall involves 19.8-pound cardboard boxes labeled “Lorraine Quiche (with pork) La Madeleine,” containing quiches in metal trays wrapped in plastic. Individual quiches do not carry labels and the products do not bear a USDA mark of inspection.

No illnesses have been reported. Consumers are advised not to eat the products and to discard them or return them to the place of purchase.
