Nirwana Foods Recalls Golden Raisins Due to Undeclared Sulfites

Nirwana Foods has issued a recall for its 28-ounce golden raisin pouches due to the presence of undeclared sulfites, posing a potential health risk to individuals with sulfite allergies. Consuming these raisins could trigger serious or life-threatening allergic reactions.

The affected product was sold at Maharaja SuperMarket and Villager Farmers Market locations. The raisins are packaged in clear plastic pouches marked with Lot #24/351-2410, UPC 712321993144, and an expiration date of October 31, 2025.

The recall was prompted by routine inspections and testing conducted by the New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets, which found sulfites present despite the ingredient not being listed on the label. So far, no illnesses or allergic reactions have been reported.

Consumers are advised to return the product to the store for a full refund. For more information, contact Nirwana Foods at 201-659-2200.
