Pacific International Marketing Recalls Italian Parsley for Possible Salmonella Contamination

Pacific International Marketing has recalled its Italian Parsley after a sample tested positive for Salmonella. The parsley was distributed to wholesalers in Arizona, California, Florida, Minnesota, Michigan, Georgia, Ohio, and Nevada between September 22 and 25.

The recalled parsley was sold in bulk cases of 30 or 60 bunches with UPC 40695 80125, and in 24-count bags with UPC 40695 80120. The product’s shelf life extends 18 days from harvest, or until October 10, meaning it should no longer be available except in frozen form.

No illnesses have been reported to date. Pacific is cooperating with the FDA’s investigation and conducting its own internal review. Consumers are advised to discard or return any recalled parsley for a refund.

Salmonella infection can cause fever, cramps, and diarrhea within 12 to 72 hours of exposure. Those experiencing symptoms should seek medical care and mention possible Salmonella exposure.
