Wiet Peeters Farm Products Limited has recalled various sliced mushroom products under the Peeters Mushroom Farm brand in Ontario due to potential Listeria contamination, according to the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA). Affected products include cremini, thin-, thick-, and generic sliced mushrooms. No illnesses have been reported as of June 29. The CFIA is ensuring recalled items are removed from stores and may expand the recall if needed. Consumers, retailers, and food service providers are urged not to consume, sell, or serve the products. Contaminated mushrooms may look fine but can still cause serious illness. Symptoms of listeriosis can appear up to 70 days after exposure. Anyone who experiences symptoms after eating the recalled mushrooms should seek medical attention immediately.
