USDA issues public alert for chips from Colombia

The USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) has issued a public health alert for potato chip products containing chicharrón (pork cracklings) imported from Colombia, a country not authorized to export meat products to the U.S. Although a recall was not issued because the products are no longer sold, FSIS is concerned that some may still be in consumers’ homes. Affected products were distributed nationwide and included several varieties of De Todito and Golpe Con Todo mixed chips, imported between August 2024 and March 2025. These products lack import marks and were sent to distributors in Florida and New York. Consumers are advised not to consume the products and to discard or return them. No adverse reactions have been reported, but anyone concerned about illness should contact a healthcare provider.
